IMPORTANT NOTE: A much sharper and cleaner print in the original theatrical release format is now available here:
Late '50s teen exploitation Texas style. It's all here - a prejudicial adult figure, a misunderstood young hero who sings and builds hot rods, and of course mediocre rock 'n' roll. The Gila Monster (heloderma suspectum) adds local color, and some might think comedy relief. Filmed in and around Cielo, Texas. Released in 1959.

Great example of the genre
I enjoyed this movie. Not so much for the storyline and FX (typical) but for the little things that made this stand above the others of its genre: Good music. Good morals. Sympathetic adults.

Believe it or not...
It's been remade:
I wonder if they substituted a Mexican beaded lizard for an authentic Gila monster,as they did in the original?

cool B Horror classic
This is one of a bunch of B horrors i used to sit up and watch as a kid. Acting's B, story's B special effects are a fail, But still a very good movie and a great way to spend a quiet night in. the main star is obviously a singing star of the day, if your into it not a bad song either lol. just give it a go
